What I Do

Practical Support From Uganda, Across Africa

I help businesses, researchers, investors, travellers, organisations and individuals get things done on the ground in Uganda and, where appropriate, across East Africa.

Sometimes you need a local contact. At other times, you may need someone to visit a place, collect information, find a supplier, coordinate a meeting or help organise a trip. You may also simply need someone who understands the local environment and can help you figure out where to start.

That is what The Africa Insider is about.

Based in Uganda, I bring together local connections, field experience, research, business support, sourcing, travel coordination and practical ground support.

Business Connections

Coming to Uganda to explore a business opportunity?

I can help you identify relevant businesses, suppliers, buyers, organisations and other local contacts. Where appropriate, I can also help with introductions, meeting coordination and practical information from the ground.

Research & Field Support

Need someone on the ground for research, surveys or fieldwork?

My experience includes household surveys, digital data collection, field supervision, monitoring, interviews, data quality checks, site visits and community engagement.

I can support research teams and organisations that need practical field presence in Uganda.

Sourcing

Looking for products, suppliers or local business contacts?

I can help with initial supplier enquiries, local information, site visits, introductions and coordination.

This can include agricultural products, commodities and other suitable products or suppliers depending on your needs.

Travel & Experiences

Want to experience Uganda beyond a standard package?

I can help coordinate private and customised travel, safaris, gorilla trekking, cultural experiences, accommodation and transport through appropriate local providers and partners.

The aim is to make your trip easier while giving you more flexibility to experience Uganda in your own way.

Local Representation

Need someone to represent you on the ground?

Instead of setting up a local office for a simple assignment, you may need someone to visit a location, attend a meeting, meet a contact, follow up on an enquiry or gather information.

I can provide practical local representation within an agreed scope and keep you updated along the way.

Ground Support

Coming to Uganda with a delegation or team?

I can help coordinate airport reception, vehicles, accommodation, meetings, site visits, event logistics and other practical arrangements.

For specialised services such as helicopter charter, I coordinate enquiries and logistics through appropriate licensed operators.

I Just Want to Understand Africa Better

How I Work

Every assignment is different. However, the basic approach is simple.

1. Tell me what you are trying to do

Share your location, your purpose and the kind of support you need.

2. We discuss the assignment

We look at what needs to be done, where it needs to happen and what would be practical.

3. We agree on the scope

Before work starts, we agree on the specific support required.

4. I work on the ground

I communicate with relevant people, make visits, collect information or coordinate the agreed arrangements.

5. I keep you informed

You receive updates and relevant information so that you can make your own decisions.

Where third-party services are involved, I coordinate with appropriate providers. Their availability, pricing, licensing and terms remain their responsibility.

Local Knowledge, With Clear Limits

Being on the ground can make it easier to find information, reach people and understand what is happening locally.

However, local support does not replace professional due diligence.

Legal, financial, tax, medical, technical, geological and regulatory matters should be handled by the appropriate qualified professionals or authorities.

My role is practical. I provide local support, information, coordination and connections within the agreed scope.

Uganda Is My Base

Uganda is where I have the strongest local experience and connections.

Where appropriate, I can also work with selected local partners and service providers in other parts of East Africa. The type of support available will depend on the location, assignment and what you need done.

Not Sure Where to Start?

You do not need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.

Tell me what you are trying to do, where you are coming from and the kind of help you think you need. From there, we can work out a practical way forward.
